AP® ENGLISH LITERATURE EXAM INFORMATION AND RESOURCES.

Q: When is the 2023 AP® English Literature Exam?
A: The 2023 AP® English Literature exam will be given in person using paper-and-pencil tests. Schools have a choice to take the 2023 AP® English Literature exam as a traditional paper-and-pencil test or as an in-school digital exam on computers.
Q: When do AP® English Literature scores typically come out?
A: The College Board will release AP® English Literature scores in July 2023. The exam is scored out of 120 points, with the multiple-choice section accounting for 40% of the total score and the free-response section accounting for the remaining 60%.

A: You can retake the AP® English Literature exam as often as you want and your high school grades won’t be affected. If you want to use the exam for college credit, you will need to achieve a passing score.

A: There is not one right answer when it comes to writing an argumentative essay. The key is to make sure that your interpretation is well-supported with evidence from the text.

A: You should expect your students to make progress in each of the seven areas of the rubric over the course of the year. The goal is for them to have a solid understanding of the text and be able to communicate a well-supported argument.

PROGRAM INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS.

A: The EIL curriculum is designed to teach students how to think and work like smart college students.

A: Two quarters.

A: No language requirement at application, but you'll need to be proficient in two languages other than English by the time you take your oral exam (end of 3rd year).

A: There is no specific undergraduate degree required to be admitted into the MTL program, but applicants with degrees in literature, history, philosophy, sociology, etc., as well as from interdisciplinary programs such as feminist studies, media studies, or American studies are successful. The statement of purpose must be well written and must present an interesting and viable interdisciplinary focus, and the writing sample is also a crucial part of your application.
